Samuel said, "Speak, lord, for your servant hears." I Samuel 3:9

Welcome!

As President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for United Methodist Communications, I am privileged to be a part of a vital ministry of communications that tells stories of hope from all corners of The United Methodist Church. We are clear, as was the Apostle Paul, that our message is not about ourselves; we are proclaiming Jesus Christ. We are simply messengers —seed carriers—from Jesus Christ to you.

It started when God said, "Light up the darkness!"
    -- 2 Corinthians 4: 5-6 (Peterson)

Telling stories of hope and meaning changes lives. In a media rich environment, proclaiming God's message of light is an urgent task. It affects how people experience the world and define their faith. Our Foundation is a vehicle through which persons who want these faith stories told can join together to communicate the life-giving Message. When you give to the Foundation, you strengthen the ability of the United Methodist Church to communicate the Gospel to the world through the various media.

The focus of my Christian journey is having encounters with God's children around the world and then telling their stories—from Vietnam to Brazil, from Guatemala to Nepal, from Good Shepherd Center in my Mississippi hometown to Benin in Africa. These personal encounters and my mission teaching are expressions of my faith. However, by supporting the Foundation, I am broadening my outreach from a personal transmission of the Message to a much larger audience.

We invite you to explore the important work being done to inform, inspire and engage people throughout the world. Join us—as a believer, as a member of the Circle of Hope, as a donor that, with God, all things are possible. God is still calling to Christians, "Light up the darkness!"
